Aw Man!!! this could be it for riding my 'go-to' trail in Central Pa. (for the rest of the year)---

Clean-up with downed trees takes Forever!!!

In fact I am sure I will probably not be riding her till the Spring! AND I got some new riding clothes for the colder months!!!!! SUCKS!!!!

wiss report- could have been worse

Trees down. VG Inn not touched at all! housing refugees from area without power for a few days and getting to cleaning trails soon (PMBA and Several of the Parks Groups have already mobilized crews). Check our PMBA or FOW websites for more info.

I checked both websites and couldn't find any info on organized clean up (maybe I missed it). Do you have a link or info? PMBA site seems like its having technical probs and the last trail condition report is from 9 weeks ago. FOW current advisories is from Feb 2012 and nothing under news. I'd be happy to lend a hand, if I could find out when and where.

Is it rideable or too many trees down?

been out in north end of the wiss hiking, a few trees and billions of little sticks and a thick blanket of leaves down but nothing that would stop me from riding. i have heard the south end is/was still pretty muddy. i know guys associated with FOW are out with chainsaws working their assets off but i don't think there is anything organized going on. i would say if you really feel like helping out you should drop FOW an email and asking if there were any opportunities to help. i know there is still lots to do.

Thanks for the report. I live just off the South end. I'll take a run (I run and ride) out there tomorrow and see how it is. If its bad, I'll send an email, if not I'll wait til they post the next trail day.

I'm going to take a look at Trexler either tonight or tomorrow. I'm guessing it's pretty bad based off of what I've seen from previous storms.

Trexler isn't too bad, a few people with chainsaws and half a day should have it fully rideable again. Most of the stuff that's down is on the bigger side. The Autumn Olive didn't really get damaged by the wind.
