My basement had about a foot of water in it at one point. I get it pumped out and turn off the pump and an hour later, there's another inch or so of water to pump. I-83 was closed around York in at least one spot, Rt. 30 was flooded in multiple locations in York County, and PA 462 which parallels 30 and is an alternate route was flooded as well. What a mess!

Susquehanna River in WB is expected to crest at 38 feet ... a lot of damage in the Shickshinny, Mocanaqua, West Nanticoke, Nanticoke, Plymouth Twp, Plains areas to be done if that forecast stays true. Good luck to all impacted.

Will have to post my carnage photos from today's Danville street ride on Monday, I don't have my camera USB at the moment. Definitely not as bad here as what I've seen from Bloomsburg. Wyatt, is that green steel bridge somewhere up on 487 over Fishing Creek?

You might not be able to ride Blue Marsh... They are under a state of emergency and trails are closed until further notice.

Had a chiropractor appt. in Pittston tody, so I took the Pugs along, man it feels like forever since I rode a bike between the Hurricane and my back.

    Pictues from Pittston

Took a ride to W-B, National Guard was blocking every street towards the River, so I rode up to the top floor of a Parking Arcade to get some pics. Took a ride up S. Main st, Abes was open so I grabbed a couple Dogs for lunch. Man there was hardly a car to be seen, the day W-B stood still.

    Thanks jonz.

I was wondering how the Bloomsburg / Danville people were faring as I know that There Is Not A Lot of Happiness down there today either.

Copying my post from another thread to have it under one roof ...

    -- cut here --

Shickshinny was completely under water, as was the Rt 11 / 29 intersection in Nanticoke (Banko's was up to it's roof-line in water). I'd not consider that the way to go until someone local posts that it is actually clear and serviceable.

There are a LOT of roads with drainage damage, like dr6 found, here and there, even far uphill from the river.

If the damage in West Pittston is anything to go by ( Maria and I were out there volunteering, somewhat, today ) then I'd expect travel in Nanticoke and Shickshinny to be restricted - particularly after hours - until we've been told otherwise. National Guard was posted and checking people going into West Pittston, for example.

    ;^(

ps. NEPMTBA lives in West Pittston, he and his mother are fine and they got lucky and only "lost" the basement ... but they don't have power yet and are working hard to reclaim their house. Their neighborhood looks like a mud-water bomb went off, it's really, really sad.

note: other streets had household contents piled up waiting for the back-hoes to shovel them into trucks to carry them away, up to 10' or higher tall. Think roads lined with mud-destroyed household goods.

this kind of shows the water level. The Curry's were lucky as the water crested 2" below their 1st floor FLOOR, most of the 'hood was not so lucky. Major credit to Jeremy S. for being out there apparently all day with Lee helping him out.

Danville - Many flooded basements, maybe a dozen homes that saw first floor water, and flooding of the middle school, sewage plant, and a few commercial properties. (me personally: 1/4 inch of water in some portions of an unfinished basement.)
Bloomsburg - EPIC carnage. Multiple collapsed homes, flooding along Fishing Creek up to second story of homes, RT 11 is completely shut down east of the fair grounds, you can see where the asphalt was just peeled away from the earth.

Edit: I didn't take these, they're from Sunday's Bloomsburg newspaper, but it gives you a sense of what Bloomsburg's dealing with.
