Please share with your friends wether they bike or not. I just got a request from some fellow mountain bikers who want our help to win a contest for a grant to build flow trails. This is your chance to show IMBA that western New York mountain biking is large and in charge. Ellicotville and Holiday Valley Trails are close by, right over the border in NY! Deadline is May 18th 2014

LET'S KEEP THIS GRANT IN YOUR RIDING AREA!

I've posted about the trails up there before. Ellicottville is just over the PA boarder north of Bradford, PA on rt 219. They have over 30miles of hand built single track in McCarthy state forest that links to Holiday Valley Ski resort. If you are out that way it is worth riding. It is a big, remote feeling trail system through some very cool terrain. Some trails go through "little rock city" which are erratics (glacial boulders - some 30-40' high). They have everything from techy sections and big climbs to fun fast flowy descents.

WNYMBA has also built trail in Allegany State Park right on the PA boarder and they are working on "Jakes Rocks" Trails in the Allegany National Forest, near Warren PA in the Kinzua area.

These guys do great work, are very dedicated and the flow trail through the ski resort would be an excellent addition to their system.

As an FYI, Holiday Valley Ski resort, where the flow trail will be located, was the incubator for mountain biking in Western NY back in the late 80s early 90s. They have a 6 mile race loop of old school off camber techy brutality. They have run a Wednesday night race series continually since the 90s. Access to their property is free and they really embrace mountain biking.

The current single track is graded as intermediate to advanced. The flow trial will serve a wider range of riders to help bring kids and beginners into the sport.

voting is very easy. Please help them out.

Come on PA! Help your northern neighbors grow more trail in Ellicottville. The trails at Holiday Valley will always be free to ride, and the guys at WNYMBA will be involved with building the future trails at Jakes Rocks near Warren/Bradford, PA. Voting takes a mere minute, and we're down by 40 votes with only a day remaining. Share with your local IMBA chapter. Let's get this done together!

Please vote for Holiday Valley/Ellicottville: http://www.bellhelmets.com/bellbuilt/
