I will be up there next Monday through Thursday in Ft. ITG and then in the Burg until Saturday. Was looking for some nice singletrack in the area that I could do in an hour or two. My class at the Ft. ends around 4:30 pm, so it would need to be close to get in some trail time before dark. Pittsburgh I can make my own schedule, so anything in or around would be fine.
Heck, I may even try to head over to State College on the way home to Philly Saturday and Sunday, so trails between Burgh and SC would work as well.
I can either bring my Cannondale V500 or a HT Giant of some sort.
www.porcmtbclub.org and go to the forums/trail talk, there is a thread at the top with lots of local trail write-ups and directions. I recommend 7 springs (ski resort in between Pgh and state college), very technical rock gardens and good singletrack.
i would make sure laurel mtn doesnt have any snow either.
lots of stuff here in state college, www.nittanymba.org before this rain today the trails were in good shape, both on the tussey side and the coopers gap stuff.
All the natural snow in the area is gone...as long as it doesn't accumulate this weekend. Laurel will be under running water this time of year though. Not exactly rideable in all areas
Thanks for the recommendations. Looking at the weather for the next 10 days, makes riding look iffy. I'll still throw the bike in the back and see what happens...
