French Creek - trails marked well?

Wanna hit French Creek for some riding before the snow starts up (i avoid the wet trails, just to keep them from getting torn up).

How do they mark their trails (IF they do), and is there a coding system used? Is it hard to get lost/end up on "non-bike" trails, or is it straightforward?

    Thanks a bundle,

They have maps at the park and the trails are marked with different colors usually painted on the trees. I ride there once or twice a year and I'm able to get around fine using the maps and markings. I've heard others say they aren't the best markings but they work enough for me.

I was hoping for a little more detail. I'll probably end up wandering around whenever I go and hope I don't peeve too many people off in the learning process........

The easist trail to follow to me was the red/white loop. Park at the intersection of Rt. 345 and Shed Rd. (Shed Rd is not well marked). This trail goes into a great downhill followed by a long up back to the car.

    Mileage?

Mileage estimate for that red/white loop you mentioned?

Do you happen to know mileage for any of the other possible loops?

Thanks a lot for the help, much appreciated.

As per Mountain Bike America guide book the red/white trail is a 6.2 mile loop. They also list a Turtle loop at 10.9 miles, which starts on the other side of Rt. 345 and Shed Rd. But this is a mix of trails including Lenape,Boone,Turtle, and Park Rd. Last time I rode there we did this first and then the red/white trail;we were well spent the last mile climbing back up to the car.

When we ride it, we start at the lake/ranger station and go up the horseshoe, and over to Lenape(sp?) and to the Red and White and back to the ranger station from the fire tower/trail up from the dam. The climb out from the red/white is one of the best around, but will test you in the rocks. That picture must be at the bottom of the red/white trail, because it looks like it, but I have never seen it dry.
