    Francis Slocum Carverton access open

As of this morning, maybe earlier, the sign-age at the trailhead declared the trail open for access.

Disclaimer: I have not walked in, so I do not know the conditions, I just checked the entrance at the road.

If the rain lets up early enough, it ought to be a good ride tonight, not sure how much I want to play on Slime though.

Go ahead, call me a wuus, see if I care.

Thanks Ted! At least someone is looking out for us. Stine and his secret riders club can ride their slimy mess without getting arrested now!

I don't ride Slocum much, so I am not real familiar with the trails and layout....are there any maps of the trails available?

Out of date and the names aren't in sync with what current naming has, but it's a start and should help you find your way back.

Frances Slocum State Park map - Wyoming PA 18644-9333

I know that an updated map is in-progress by someone local, who I won't name but has previously done maps for Moon Lake.

Someone else may have a better/more-recent one.

i had used the one off the dcnr website when i went; it looks to be the same as bearís. it may not have everything on it but i was able to ride a nice loop with it. there were also some maps at the trailhead when i went, but you never know if there will be any when you go.

I like Slocum but am always disappointed at the lack of mapping. Think i've rode the park as intended and have had some fun rides for sure. Can be muddy for sure, but I don't mind that.
