Good job! First trip to Swatara

All I can say is, WOW! What a system! Well maintained and a change of pace from the rocks that are NEPA. Very fast, very flowly and a lot of fun! Was a bit crowded, but that can be anticipated for a Saturday.

I thought the trails were marked great, flowed into each other very well and, as stated, are maintained very, very well.

Kudos to those who keep those trails up and I WILL be back soon! GREAT ride!

Side note-- Anyone have a suggestion for a good burger/beer near the park?

Sorry to threadjack, but didnt feel this would be worth starting a whole new thread. I am planning on riding Swatara tomorrow morning, but would like to know if the trails are in any condition for riding? (not sure if the area drains well). I tried checking SAMBA and last update was 7/2. Thanks!

The trails usually drain well (we had a lot of rain). I am thinking they should be better tomarow. We will get the website updated tomorrow after we check the trails.

Well since we had about 2 full dry days, I'm going to take the chance and try riding there in the AM. If I'm leaving tracks everywhere, i'll be sure to leave and get my ride in on the boring ole rail trail. Thanks barnold.

Hi. I've been hearing good things about Swatara but I don't see anything in the trail review section. Can anyone mention specific trails? Parking? Starting points? Thanks!

The map posted is what I used and found the trail pretty easily (did get a little confused with the other trailhead parking lots). Continue down 443 past the trailhead lot (cannot remember what it was for). Other than that, you really don't even need a trail map, the system is so well laid out you basically flow throughout.

I was thinking of heading out there today but it seems like there's rain in the area. We had a nasty thunderstorm this morning in Bucks. Can anyone confirm one way or the other?
