    Fell Mountain Trail Conditions

Can anybody from the Fell Mountain area fill me in on the conditions up your way? A group of us from Bethlehem were planning a road trip up there this coming Black Fri., but with the snow and rain we're thinking it might not be a good time to ride Fell. Any thoughts and input as the week progresses would be great, thanks.

Snow covered as of yesterday. If you have never ridden there or don't have a guide hard to follow the trails with snow on them. The rain today will help. I'm sure when Larry Fahn gets home from work he will post conditions here.

Someone from Hubbard might be doing a ride or hook up with you.

    Enjoy! Happy Thanksgiving...

There might be some "brown ice" from the rain. If it's dry tomorrow and Friday, it should be OK. There might be some from Hubbard up there. ttyl, Fahn

    Slippery but rideable

Three of us rode Merli-Sarnoski; a.k.a Fell Mountain on Thanksgiving morning. Only did a short ride that included the Start Loop, Squeeze Play, Handlebar and Blade. Everything was very rideable but rocks were wet and slippery. We choose to skip some of the more rocky technical trails due to the wet, slippery rocks. Quote of the day was "The leaves are wet and the rocks underneath them are even wetter".

    Thanks for the reports

Looks like we're heading up there tomorrow. Wet leaves over wet rocks, no problem, pretty much the same conditions we had today in Bethlehem.

Had a great time riding there Fri.

The trails were a lot of fun with lots of cool rock features. Will definitely be back again even though it's an hour and a half drive.

It was kind of a mess at one point, I guess from the logging they did or are still doing? It's a shame, looks like they really messed things up.

It was the Hubbard guys who brought it back for the dead! They did a fantastic job! There are not a lot of people who would do what they did. They stepped up and did what had to be done and it is still a work in progress. So, all is well for all to enjoy! Thanks to Hubbard we didn't lose a gem of a place to ride! Glad you enjoyed it!
