    Elk Ride

Hey all letting the PA contingent know about this ride. I received this email from the club I belong to LHORBA.

Pretty good opp, to maybe see some ELK, and check out the wilderness up north.

    The Following is the Email:

    Hello Everyone:

Below is a message from the director of the North Central Region of the PA Game Commission pertaining to a mountain bike ride as part of the "100 Anniversary PA Elk Restoration” celebration on September 28. Link to register below if interested. Pass this along to anyone interested.

On September 28 (Saturday before Archery) we are having a Conservation Officer and other PGC employee led bike event in the Elk range starting between the towns of Benezette and Karthaus in the Quehanna Wild Area. It will be on state forest and Commission open and closed roads and will highlight elk habitats with the hope of seeing elk. If not, after the ride participants can just go up to the Elk visitor center and nearby game commission overlooks for they will be in full rut and bugling up a storm.
If you think any of your people will be interested go to and select the “100 Anniversary PA Elk Restoration” and look at September 28th for registration details and a map. It will be 14 miles long. Great time to come to PA Wilds!

I don't know....but probably, but usually these events are about seeing some wildlife, and getting to ride in areas that are off limits. Not for everyone, but some folks might be into it. Building a good report with the Game Commission in PA is a good thing.....there was a time when most of it was open to not so much.
