Conditions at Blue Marsh (as of 2/7)?

Anyone been out there since last weekend? Trying to figure out what to expect for this weekend w/ regard to snow & ice (if anything at all).

    Hi Joe,

Just spoke to someone at the ranger's office (610-376-6337). She said the trails were largely frozen, with patches of ice. They had a light dusting of snow last night, which may or may not melt. When asked whether any peeps had been riding the trails, she replied "no, it has been too cold". Brrrrr!

Might be worth calling again tomorrow afternoon - perhaps to get a second opinion. So long as it is not crazy icy, we should be good.

Trails are in good shape, at least there isn't any mud. There is light snow here and there, mostly in the shady spots. We were down Sunday, but they wouldn't let us ride. They had a missing person search going on. They didn't find him yet but they called off the search because of the cold. They think he fell through the ice.

What ice? was this person walking on the frozen lake
Now im not from around here and I even know not to do that.

On a serious note, I hope they do find the person in a non life-theatening condition.

Nah, I figured they'd be okay. I just wanted to make sure that they hadn't got hit with more snow than we have. That, and that they weren't 'studded-tires-icy' (which they aren't, from the sound of things).

Too bad. A thirty mile studded-tire slog round the lake might have been fun.
