Can someone recommend a reliable place to get my frame painted?
I have a 2005 Rocky Mountain ETSX and I love it but they were out of the color I wanted when I bought it. I'd like to try and get it painted now. Now, RM powdercoats their bikes. They won't redo it. I was recommended a place in Mass. called S & D Powdercoating but no method I have used to contact them works. I've been told that powdercoating and the walnut shell method of removing an existing powdercoat is no big deal but I've also heard that the heat treating used can weaken a frame if not done right. So, someone on the frame building forum advised chemical stripping and wet paint. Hey, whatever gets the job done. I'm not looking for anything super fancy. Hell, if I could just get the rear half of the bike done that would be great (it's black, I want it white but there is masking involved). Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
If you are in the Philly area, this guy off of Craigslist powder coats bikes. He charges $125 and does a pretty good job. I can find you his contact info if you want it. My friend got a road bike done by him and it turned out nice.
I would greatly appreciate that. I'm in Upper Bucks. Thanks!

Here's a copy of some posts I made on www.phillymtb.com. Someone had the same type of question.
Don't know any specific frame painters, but I can suggest some powder coaters that I've dealt with over my years in the sheet metal fabricating business.

There was an article in a past issue of Bicycling Magazine about this builder. He's right here in the city. From looking at the website, they also do paint. Hope this helps.
