    Bike Rentals in State College?

Anybody know a shop that rents bikes at PSU? I'll be back for a long weekend at the end of September and want to hit some local trails for a couple of hours...for old times sake. Would appreciate some close-in trail recommendations, too. I've ridden Tussey/Rothrock, but it was about 6-7 years ago. I have no idea how to get to trailheads or even what trails are still open.

    Things have changed...

Thanks for the list. I recognized maybe 3 of those shops from the "good ol' daze."

Here is a map I am "working on" for the Rothrock area.
    http://www.personal.psu.edu/faculty/.../cyclemaps.htm
It still needs some work, but I no longer have time to deal with it. The trails are pretty much complete.

There are probably more trails open now in the area than when you were here a few years back. That is due to the work of the bike groups in town, Nittany Velo, Centre Region Bike Coalition and Nittany MB Association. The later has the best website for fidning rides partners and so on:
    http://www.nittanymba.org/

One of the shops in town is the biggest in organizing trail work, the fourth one in the list, Mt Nittany Wheelworks.

Over christmas break i am planning on re-doing that map and making interactive. No routing like Yahoo Maps but you'll be able to turn things on and off, say like countour lines, change the backround from the elevation map to color airphotos and so on.
