Hi! If you google "bikepacking in pa" you'll get some good links to get started, especially to bike packing.net ...mtbr has some gear related resources to browse but bikepacking.net will help more with the route planning.

you've got a hell of a route pretty much planned for you here:

    bikepacking.net > Eastern USA > USA-PA-North/South Route

i had big plans to go do this last year but life got in the way. i am hoping to get out there next summer but life is not making that easy... as far as i can tell there are not many folks who have done this.

    This is a great thread...

    Yes I have...
...the Lackawanna forest near Hunlock Creek it was a good trial for more bigger trips.

Hoping to hit up the Pa wilds and I hear they have plans to connect the western end with the Allegheny National Forest with a trail system. That would make for a great area to roam around.

This and also, what kind of trails? What kind of distance? One end of the spectrum is the Alleghany Passage / CO canal Towpath.....basically rail trail....300-ish miles

Or are you trying to maximize single track?...many options.... How about providing some more info..otherwise we're all just pissing into the wind.....

I posted it up in the Bikepacking/ Bike Expedition forum...
...use this for all your bike packing needs in Pa...

Now if we can achieve an east/west route?

I'm going to ride part of the PA N/S this summer....I was going to do it last year, but was tough finding a partner to ride with....I don't want to do that myself, safety reasons.

Also I've been studying some maps and google earth....I think I can get a mixed route from OhioPyle area all the way to the Mountain Top area, and then down into JT, which then you can head down to Allentown, and maybe even Philly. I do know I can do a Mixed route from My house in Johnstown, to Pittsburgh, I will tackle that one in the Spring. But a Mixed route across the state would be pretty awesome IMO.

Keep this thread going, maybe some of you would like to join me.
