Easter Weekend has always been a great moto or mtb weekend around my house...
...continued this year with a trip to mid state!
A chance to see old friends and plan for the upcoming summer ride season!
A great place to stay the Bald Eagle Inn at Bald Eagle State Park(BESP) One of a kind. A bit sparse this time of year and good for that as the boaters were not out yet and lake was really quiet. A good nights rest with lots of activities coming up is key. There are some trails in this segment of BESP, but not like Bald Eagle State Forest none the less a sprint around the place was in order.

The old road to Monument and Orviston makes for a great ride, and the climb up Orviston Mountain, all dirt of course, is a mighty one. A huge area for ATVing lots of trails run in all directions, even a trip up Beech Creek will leave you far from home. What the locals I ride with call: "The short cut to Snow Shoe"
From a friends site:
NYC Beech Creek Railroad - Abandoned Railroads of Northeast Pa
Bloody Skillet ATV Trail - Pennsylvania Motorcycle and ATV Trails
A trip up stream to Black Moshannon SP (BMSP) where there is lots to do. On the way leading off with a super road climb up the Rattlesnake Pike, Allegheny Ridge, RT 504. If you have even wanted to climb a big one this is it and it descends down into the park with many trail options. The Allegheny Front trail and Rock Run trails all intersect here. Having enough time to fit all this in is difficult, but it's just the start of the summer riding season.

Fishing in the area of BMSP is the best in the state if you know where to go! Rock Run is a very secluded trout stream and a great hike in also. My favorite when I visit BMSP
Last but not least the Moshannon Canoe race held every year is a blast. This year was well attended.
Getting lost very easy?...
... but wasn't that the goal?
