    Archbald/Carbondale ride.

This is a ride my friends and I try and do a couple times a year. It's around 13 miles or so and we use shuttle vehicles, nobody wants to pedal back up Salem Mt to get back to our cars.
We ride the top of the mountain from Archbald to Carbondale, then we work our back downhill towards the Lackawanna river. It's mostly ATV trails but they make for some good trails. Enjoy the pics.

    Good job!

That whole area is really cool...

...40 foot falls, Hosey dam, the Red ash, used to be really desolate, but since they put the Casey highway in a little more ways to access it. There used to be a really cool narrow singletrack along the 40 foot falls stream, but the quads found it and now it's a highway of puddles... LOL I last road out behind Alesworth for a loop then returned on the old narrow gauge gravity railroad trail.

Salem Mt Road is a great ride on the SuperMotos, I hit it a least once a year, great for wheelies. May I ask did you start at the powerline on Salem Mt Road?

Thanks for the story and pics!

Gt9r I'm originally from Archbald, #5 hill, but live in Throop. NEPMTBA, the last pick is of the Hosie dam, used to swim there a lot way back in the 70's. We park at the game lands lot on top of Archbald Mt. and go across to Salem Rd. The trail we take comes in off Salem Rd in Carbondale and comes out behind the Hosie(Edgerton Res. on the map), then down into Alsworth park, then to the Lackawanna river and then back to Archbald. We didn't go down to the river this ride, most other times we do. It is an excellent ride with some good techie downhill sections. As a matter of fact it's almost all downhill once you get to Salem Rd. If you guys wanna get together in the near future to do a ride let me know. Here's a link to Garmin Connect, click on the Archbald/Carbondale heading and you should be able to see my ride.
