    Any trails near Johnstown/Cambria County???

    I've been travelling to Johnstown for work several times and year. It's one of the few places I haven't hauled my bike because I haven't found much online for trails.

    Does anyone have any suggestions. I'm open to most any trails. My main ride is a Trek Slash and have a Soma Groove hard tail for less technical trails.

    Thanks,

    Vince

    Hi Vince,

    I have ridden at Prince Galitzin state park, the northern part of the park has 20 miles of snowmobile trails.

    I don't know if you wanna travel a bit... ...it would be worth it to hit up Raystown! The official home of the Allegrippis Trails

    State College area and Tussey mountain trails.

    PA*DCNR*-*Where

    Again travel involved but worth it: Pennsylvania Dirt

    Did you try the trail reviews here on mtbr.com?

    Hey Vince;
    I live in JTown, there are good options in the area. Look me up when you're in town again, if I'm off or available I will certainly ride with you.

    LHORBA, is the local bike club, good bunch of people, they do a group MTB ride every Tuesday Evening in various locations around Johnstown. And a Road Ride on Wednesday Evenings.

    But places that are worth a check out:

    Highland Park - Twisty Single Track and Technical Rocky Singletrack, about 13 miles of it packed in a 140 acre park, run by Richland Township....Right in Johnstown.

    Salix - Nice trail system here, someone would have to take you, and show you around.

    Laurel Mountain - Has everything, fast flow, big ass rocks, bigger ass rocks, and just some nice scenery.

    Blue Knob - Various Trails Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down.

    Other options but a bit further

    again let me know when you're in town, I can take you to one or more of them, maybe even get you on a club ride.

    Huge thanks to LHORBA and Jason for two great days of riding. I'll bring fresh legs next time, lol. We'll see if I'm up for more riding tomorrow and I'll be sure to bring my back for all my trips back here in the future.

    Hey Vince;

    Not a problem, was a good ride last night.....like I said I love that trail system. Whenever you're in town, we'll make it happen if at all possible. Even when there is snow on the ground....you haven't been on the Decker Avenue Challenge yet ;p That's the Winter Time Ride....Uphill both ways....Literally!
