Annual Francis Slocum Thanksgiving Day Ride

We will be meeting on Carverton Rd entrance (The usual place we meet for the Tuesday evening rides) at 9:00 AM November 22, AKA Thanksgiving. Planning to ride Slocum to Friedmanís and back to Slocum.

I would like to thank Chuck B, Chris M, Ted (Bear), Mark F, Devin for the helping me on Sunday 11-18-12. For getting the trails ready for Thursday.

The roads around the farm, sure (although Gypsy lane is dirt/gravel), the trail no.

I think if you hit the farm trail with a CX bike you'd spend a ton of the time off the bike. :P

    Great Day

My son Jake and I went up this morning, very nice job on cleaning the trails
There were a surprising number of folks out enjoying the trails as well.
Great way to start the day! My son LOVED it!! He tore it up

when I first came here in '09 it blew my mind to see leaf-blowers on the trails in the autumn and spring, how I can't see how we could keep the trails usable without doing that twice a year.

i also truly appreciate all the stolid trail gnomes out there that work to keep things fun!

I'd "go postal" without trails to ride.

Here are some pictures from the ride and the Garmin GPS of it also.

There was a little ice on the water in the morning.

Here is the link to my GPS of the ride.
