Allegrippis trails closed for hunting season

I was talking to a fellow bike rider the other day that drove 45 miles to ride there last week. After getting all suited up with a couple warm up circles in the parking lot headed to the trail only to find a sign saying the trails were closed for hunting season.

I am sot sure if this has been the case other years but from what he said this was the first year this has been done? He also said you would be fined. Ididnt think to ask him if this would said anything about or would include Sundays? I thought I would mention this in case it is true and save you a trip to disappointment.

From what I understand, this has always been the case. One of the local trail volunteers told us this a few years ago at dirt fest.

Yeah your fellow bike rider should have checked their website before heading out.

I do recall it being closed in years prior except for on Sundays but just for a few weeks. Honestly, I can gladly stay away from shared use trails for 2 weeks during deer rifle season. These few weeks are the only times I worry about hunters, it seems that the bow hunters are a lot more sane and less prone to trigger-happiness.

This is due to state hunting laws and has always been the case. Same goes for any state game land, such as Bavington.

Feel free to ride at night or on Sunday though, when hunting is not allowed.
Oh noes. I'm going to drink the Kool-Aid.
