    2006 Month of Mud?

Does anyone have any information about this year's Month of Mud races held around Pittsburgh? Dates and information would be a real help.

    Thanks.

From what I understand from a local bike shop owner, some of the race venues may change a bit, but the weekend dates (every oct/final in Nov) will stay the same. The organizers run a bit late putting up the schedule, so you may have to inquire with Ty at go rocket. Here's the link.

I spoke with Gary Bywaters of ABS yesterday and he also confirmed things are on, but schedule is not set or available yet.....I will update if I hear anything else.

Looking forward to getting back to racing.

k, I'd appreciate that a lot as I'm planning on doing the races as well.

Didn't you do the 7 Springs race last year? If so, how was it? I did the Sewickley race last year. Rumor has it that Sewickley will not be raced this year.

I haven't heard anything about not racing Sewickley, but I'll ask around.

According to the folks at Snitgers and Gary Bywaters the tentative schedule is as follows:

Here is the info as I know it right this second (all subject to change until official):

Sunday Sept 24 = Bavington time trial
Sunday Oct 1 = Grove City
Sunday Oct 8 = Bradys Run
Saturday Oct 21 = Moon Park night race
Sunday Oct 29 = Seven Springs

When the dates become officially official they will be posted at:

See you all there.....I'll be on a blue/white cannondale jekyll and will be racing the sport class.

sweet, thanks. I wasn't able to get to the Springs last year (family stuff got in the way) but I hope to make it to all the races this yea. Although I may have to miss one cause I'll be at homecoming on one of the saturdays...and then to an afterparty thing so chances are I won't be home til 2 in the morning. But who needs sleep anyway

I raced 7 springs last year. Storm threatening the whole time, but dry. Very rocky, several stretches of rock gardens that jars your cavities loose. Course was mostly on top of the mountain.

Sewickely race last year was funny. Just to see all the dog owners looking at us was worth the price of admission.

No Moraine State Park? Is that one of the things that changed?
I do not know myself, and God forbid I should...

I Saw the Schedule, I just can't remember what it said

I worked with a young lady yesterday who works at Gatto's Wexford shop. She had a flyer listing the Month of Mud events. I don't have it here, but, as I recall, the first race is a time trial at Bavington, there's one at Brady's Run, cyclocross, I think, and the last race is at Seven Springs. I can't remember where the 3rd event is. Anyway, the itineraries must be available at the local shops by now. I'm sure you could get one from Gary at the Ambridge Bike Shop 724-266-1111. I'll see you at Bavington.
