Right On!!! Or Ride On!!! Or both.

Glad to see the ancient and mysterious Zapoteca art of bike levitation is still being practiced.

I think we need to make a special thread to ask Francois personally for the board. Make it an official petition. My one concern, and I think Warp expressed this earlier and more eloquently, is language. There are other sites for spanish language. Seeing as MTBR is an English language site, I feel it would be important to keep all posts in English (or with translation). I'm not just saying this because my spanish sucks, but I feel this is a great place to promote Mexico MTB to the greater world.

Hmm, rather than write all this here, why don't I get the ball rolling.

Here's a couple of shots from Chiluca yesterday...

This truly is a Christmas miracle

I would personally like to nominate Warp2003 as moderator. He is the first person I met from Mexico City, and that was through the MTBR forums. He introduced me to the wonderful group of riders and friends in the Mexico City area (some of them MTBR members). I can think of no better person as MTBR Mexico Ambassador. He also spends an unhealthy amount of time posting on the forums

If others would like to make nominations, or second this nomination, please post here.

    With gratitude

I foolishly thought this was in reply to my post, but now see it was in reply to TripHop's original thread. Sincere apologies. There goes that Rock Star Ego of mine again.

With the greatest respect to TripHop I'd still like to suggest Warp2003 as moderator, as far as I know he is the longest served and most prolific poster of the Mexico MTBR members.

Ok, done deal. I'm home sick with strep throat so I'm actually home working today.

I would suggest posting a roll-call thread (who are you? where do you live? favorite beer? etc.) to get this party started.

When is the gaddem gathering. We need to try some real mex food!

Warp, reply to this thread if you want to be moderator and I'll make it so.

How about a "Latin America" board.

You do have other countries south of Mexico represented here as well.

    I feel honored!!!

I would be honored to serve as a moderator... but I would prefer it would be popular decision on who's to be.

WOW!! What a X-Mas present Francois!

I agree with Tigerdog as to keep mostly in english everything in there. The idea is to widespread Mexico's marvels and riding and I wouldn't like the board to feel intrusive in the forum's format... we already had troubles for less once.

As much as I would like to attract more paisanos and have more spanish content, it can come later if it fits.

For me is enough with a Mexican board.... where all of we could share info on local stuff and riding!

Nice fellas! Congratulations and thanks to all who made it possible!!

Let's make Francois feel proud of this decision!

Great, you are now annointed moderator. You'll find Thread tools at the bottom right of threads where you can make threads sticky, delete, etc. Your main duty is to make that board a fun and inviting place.

You can also now go into the Moderators Forum. It's the ultra-chic lounge for nerds like Gregg and Shiggy.

Send me your jersey size and address and I'll send you some golfreview stuff... i mean mtbr. fcebedo@yahoo.com

When do we get a Philippines forum btw? I'm from da Islands!

Get well soon, and Feliz Navidad from all of us down here.

My wife had strep throat just after Thanksgiving. She couldn't talk for 4 days.

This is all well and good, but I hope you keep posting your ride pics in passion so we can all see them.

Congrats on getting a board for 'ole Mexico...

...from a rider in New Mexico.I've only gotten to ride the Sierra Madres in Sonora myself, but I love the trail pics and ride stories you guys put up...so much different than my domestic variety (I could deny jealousy, but I'd be lying ).Hopefully I can make it further south in the near future and see what it's all about.Good work appealing to us curious gringos north of the border .
