Whatever blows your hair back. [o]

What, am I your *****? True up your own damn wheels, I've got sun to soak up.

The heat of summer around me has faded.

Cool autumn rides with longer sleeves are in effect. Lights have been dug out of their hiding places. The temperatures weren't so horrible this year, but
the humidity was just brutal. This was not kind to my already fairly odiferous scrubmobile.

    Shaken.

    Not stirred.

Got over to Diablo with Mrs. Friar. One of those wicked humid days. Ugh. The hose at the bottom of the lifts was a welcome relief.

    Mellow-->harshed.

Took a little trip up north. Figured to ride some new-to-me stuff, maybe get a break from the muggy air.

It was not to be. The humidity was, if anything, even worse. To the couple guys who were willing to ride in nasty hot weather to give me tours, I give much thanks.

Riding vacation with ugly humidty + camping = stinky car gets even stinkier.

The blueberries were good, at least.

Coping strategy. Yep, works pretty well.

Deal with the heat, and ride on.

    Get back to your roots.

Be sure to get in lots of salty snacks.

    Ride.

    Ride some more.

    Hydrate properly.

    Did he make it?

Got to check out a nice spot while on a short visit to the in-laws.

The swampy bit here actually stank worse than the scrubmobile. True story! I really was not interested in putting a foot down.

Back to the comforts of home. Get off my lawn, you damn kids!

Indispensible. Post ride. Get out of our salt crusted and drenched riding duds. Rinse. Makes a drive home much more tolerable.

Especially after a hot day all suited up at the lifts. This time with The Friar on his own. Backside of the Flume.

    Frontside.

Man, I tell ya' that place is full of saweeeeeet whips!

Yeah, sorry, not hitting up that big sucker in the back.

Friar does not fit well in small spaces.

Why yes, yes I do like these orange shorts a fair bit.

    Ride in the rain.

My closest to home trails continue to be very fun. Haven't gotten bored of them yet.

Or the Whole Foods cookie bar that can be perused on the way there.

No real point to any of this. Ride your bikes, have fun doing so. Ride them on all sorts of trails. Ride when it's maybe not the ideal weather. Your headspace will likely thank you.

Enduro! Erm, I mean group trail ride with a timed descent.

    Night ride!

    Ride up crappy old two-track.

Ride the fun stuff to which that crappy two-track can lead.

    Take a nap.

Get those breezes in your hair.

Push up and do it again.

    Don't be afraid to experiment.

Even when it doesn't always work out.

    Friar and I at Ninham.

New post ride! Little burrito truck not too far from das heimat. Chorizo and carnitas here. They were quite tasty.

Got in another new-to-me place, not far from home, but only had the crappy phone to capture PP on a few things.

Anyhow, yeah, pretty much just an excuse to throw up a bunch of pics. Enjoy, and keep riding bikes. Remember: if it isn't fun, you're doing it wrong.

Always enjoy your collages of images, Dave. I recognize a couple of those places, but not many. Love the chainsaw work on that last log ride!

I hope all is well. Loving that BLTc you clued me into.
