    Vegas, it isn't just casinos!

As a tahoe transplant I was happy to find there is some riding to be done around sin city. And I'm guessing that aside from some brutally hot summer months you can do it pretty much year round. Since I needed a tune up ride I headed out to the small town of blue diamond, took the first right and found the trailhead. A fun drop on the left there and if you look at my seat you can find a cheap solution to a front end that was doing too many wheelies.

As I started down the trail I realized that there is a lot more air down here compared to tahoe! Also with the lack of climbing on this trail it was a great early season (as far as my body is concerned) warmup ride. Mostly big ring.

An old car, I have no idea how it got out there but I'm guessing it was quite some time ago when the owner left it.

The rock is red, its probably why the area is called redrock......

After about half an hour of riding I hit a bunch of this crap.

Figured that was enough of that so I grabbed some shade and enjoyed this view while eating some kielbasa and bread. (Locals, check out the polish deli on west charleston and jones, good stuff!)

On the way back I decided to take the high road so I could do that little drop. However, someone else was using the trail. The male was eyeing me the whole time and I didn't really want to tangle with him since he was bigger than me. Went back and took the low road.

All done, off to the pool! Keep biking kids, it keeps you in shape!

Hell yeah, I ride that trail alot. I can never make it up that first drop, I always catch that lip on my way up. Never seen horses out there though, just a bunch of burros and that lovely sand you came across. So did you move to Vegas or are you still in Tahoe?

Last time I rode at Blue Diamond I saw a couple of dogs on the trail... they didn't have a person with them, but they looked like they knew where they were going

I hate that sandy patch... it just sucks all the life out of your legs. I usually try to ride it for a little way, slip and fall, and then walk instead I think something is going to be done about that though... mattbikeboy would know the details.

Which drop are you guys referring to? The one that's like a big V in the ground just as you leave the town? I tried it once, and haven't plucked up the courage to try it again. I'm sure it got deeper over the winter
