Too much passion, how not to start a MTB race.

Watch the guy in yellow. Fast forward to about 55 seconds.

Somewhat less hilarious for the two guys he took out. Hopefully they all got up and kept racing. Always lots of crazy adrenaline taking off from the start line.

Classic. Weekend warrior type that looks among the least fit racers there stumbles out of the block. So to make up for hit, he immediately puts the hammer down like he's finishing a TDF time trial, and ends up taking out himself and a few innocent, yet unlucky riders in the process.

You just know that guy probably didn't think he was at fault for the crash...until he sees that video.

Ahughhhhhhh! Ahughhhhhhh! Ahughhhhhhh! Ow ow ow ow aughhuuuuuuu stop stop!

    "Gosh, I hope she's okay..."

I suck at racing, but I do know that blowing up and trying to hammer out the gate leads to nothing but failure for most mortals. Either you blow up or you eat dirt. I hope this guy watches this and shares the laugh with us.

Looks like he was more interested in taunting the other riders. He rocked one guy's seatpost at the line and looked like he wanted to give that rider to the right that he was passing one of those looks. The way he crashes reminds me of how people "OTB" on climbs.

How the hell do you OTB on a climb?! I've seen people fall back on a climb, which is quite funny. But OTB, that's got to be another dimension of hilarious.

At the finish line too. Saw one guy end up with a concussion racing to the finish line with another racer that wasn't even in his class.

    Man down!

What caused him to lose control and keel over? Did he even tap the guy on the right? or just lose his balance?

you got that right. i raced north, south east and west in the state of california back in the nineties and this course makes even the sea otter seem absolutely vertical in some places.

Second hand embarrassment. If you look at him before he takes off, I think it's quite obvious that the started in the wrong gear and then decided his rocket boost would take care of it.

Easier than you think, I rearranged my hand that way. Steep climb, out of the saddle huffing it, poorly timed water bar... crash go boom.
