Am I the only one who remembers? If you don't know who he is and why this day is meaningful to a lot of us, just look on the left side of the Passion page. See that pic in sepia tones of the guy holding the bike over his head? That's him. Click there.
Good for you on remembering. I never knew DR but when I first found Passion I really enjoyed reading the tribute post and am glad to see it's still there.
Is there another post somewhere? I'm surprised more people haven't commented on this. I started posting here shortly before his death, so I can't say I knew him, but he was certainly memorable. Hope his family is well.

DR1 -- I remember. I miss you.
No problem Mike. I really thought there would be a big thread already going early yesterday but when I came home and checked, I didn't see anything. I didn't want the day to go by without a reminder.
I did not know dalerider1 of course seeing as though I live all the way over here in Australia but reading these posts today had me almost in tears (still am).
I can only hope that when I am gone there are as many people still saying great things about me after 5 years. From what I have read here today and last year when I stumbled accross the DR1 post he must have been a great man.
Hard to believe it's been 5 years since Big Daddy graced our pages and our lives. I miss that big lug and always will. I did know Chris personally. I drank his beer, enjoyed his hospitality and rode with him on numerous occasions. The guy was larger than life in so many ways. While I didn't directly name my son after DR1, it's only fitting that our little guy shares the same first name as Chris Cannon.
I never met him in person; but I spoke to him on the phone and email several times. A truely great guy. It's my loss for never having gotten to share some single track with him.
RIP Big D
it seems like such a shorter time. What a geat guy.Helping all the local kids and others.I still have his sitcker on the inside of my office door frame to remind me to tryand live life to it's fullest, because time can be so short.....RIP BIG GUY....
Never met Dale personally, but chatted w/him on more than a few occassions.. I still sport on of the "OlPharts@ MTBR.com" stem caps on my Turner..
