    Sunset/Moonrise Ride Mountain Top...

Here are a few shots from a Sunset/Moonrise ride. The sun was setting at the same time the moon was rising. Think it only happens a few times a year, it was Oct.17 when Ric, Denis, Brian, Joan, Al, and I rode to the top of Stony Cabin Ridge to view it.

Love these pictures. Especially like the riders with the lights on with the darkening sky behind them. Awesome!

Like the others have said. Nice shots. Certainly something you can submit to riders eye/dirtrag, if not elsewhere!

Just had to give u props for some sweet pics. That 4th shot (the 1 w/ everyone bathed in the sunset light) is awesome and should be submitted to a mag for a rap around cover. Hope to get out w/ the camera more this year and create some nice shots myself.

    Thank You....

For posting the pictures. They are awesome. It helps clear up the funk from the rain and cold weather of winter. I can't wait for spring!

R59Anthem, Jorge Monkey, E!, Martini, GCM, Lynx,......

Mtnbkrid, and Troy. Thanks for your comments. Brian was the shooter. The ride up to Stony Cabin Ridge was filled with anticipation, would we be able to see the sunset and moonrise simultaneously? would we get there in time? would clouds form and ruin it?..the ride home was pretty decent although my lights failed(my issue not having them ready). Have posted some more shots in the Pennsylvania thread. Thx again. Jeff

p.s. R59Anthem- Sounds like you have been up to Stony Cabin Ridge. Do you ride the area regularly?

    Jeff:

Great pics! You don't often see something like that. It really makes it so much better when you can share it with friends who enjoy doing the same thing as you.

Wow! Is that cool! Though once again, I'm left to wonder about something. Often times, we look up and see the sun over here, and the moon over there... both in our sky at the same time. What does China have? I can't ever remember looking up and seeing neither sun nor moon.

    Nice avatar too!

The deep red and bright sun contrast nicely with the darker colors. Really accentuates them. Where is this place.

I know it's not near me...only thing here is snow..and ice...and wind...and snow and ice and wind.

    Cool-blue Rhythm Proformance,CSP,BillWiz,Bwillsie, and Township75...

Thanks very much for the replys/comments/questions. Stony Cabin Ridge is in Pennsylvania, we did the ride in Oct or November, found some time to post the pictures around the holidays. Bwillsie was the shooter, he has taken many shots of our local crew mtn biking over the past several years. We can now thank him for letting us know the dates of the next Sunset and Moonrise(always amazes me how he knows this stuff). Hopefully we can capture some more good shots during the next "Magic Hours". We may not be able to ride out in March but we could hike out there. Thx again for the encouragement!
