    Summer Solstice Passion?

Anybody doing any thing special with all the daylight we'll have today? I know the sunrise was beautiful here this morning. I listened to this twice when I got to work:

Going camping today through monday. Will probably log as many miles this 4 day weekend as i usually do in an entire month. Drinking my coffee and getting ready to load the truck up. Woot!

p.s. full moon sunday night to boot!

Late afternoon ride for me. Possibly, on a new bike, but most likely, not.
Still, the old bikes are just fine by me.

I promised to take my son to see Monsters University...
I'll leave for my ride at 8:30. It'll still be kinda light for a little while. Have to ride back with the lights on.

Tomorrow (Saturday) at 6:00AM I am starting out on a 13,000+ footies/61 mile endurance mountain bike ride with two riding buddies, in Henry Coe State Park in Morgan Hill, California. We’ll be gone long enough to be needing lights on our bikes (should return to the parking lot after 10:00PM). I believe only 1 mile of the planned route is paved, the rest is singletrack and fireroads; the singletrack is some steep-assed and loose stuff, with grades up to 40% in places. Having done an even bigger ride at Henry Coe (the HardCoeRe100.com 100-mile/20,000+ footie ride every year in October) before, I know it’s quite a task to keep the average speed (for the entire duration—including breaks) above 5MPH, so although it sounds slow, remember those 40%+ grades I was talking about—hike-a-bike action—even the 20% graded sections are quite long, and going up them is a task. Morning temperatures will start at around 45°F, and by 3:00PM I believe they should be in the mid-90°F to low-100°F range, tapering off after sundown back down to around 60°F. Bringing craploads of food, survival gear, and our water purifiers.

went out on the Sawyer and rolled around the concrete trail a bit earlier, enjoying sunset and the SUPERMOOOOOOOON rising... think I'll go out again for an evening cruise.

    Re: Summer Solstice Passion?

Had some sunlight out when I got home from work. Thought it would get dark by the time I reached the top of the hill in my loop but it was still light.
I don't ride my bike to clear my mind, I ride my bike because its the only thing on my mind.

June 22 is always a bit melancholy for me -- the days get a tiny bit shorter from here on out. I love the endlessly long days at this time of year; it is a though you get two days in one.

Going out tomorrow night for a Super-moon ride! Heading to some elevation to try and get the best views. Not sure if I'll head out today or not . . . . feeling pretty lazy this morning!
Alcohol may lead nowhere, but it sure is the scenic route!

    Celebrated my Birthday.

I celebrated my birthday, painted trim and doors at the beach condo we are restoring and walked the boardwalk at Seaside Heights, NJ. No bikes for me that day.

Nicely done Funrover. Unfortunately I have been off the bike for a while so I am living vicariously through you - Thanks!

Love the classic cars too, especially the 55 or 56 Chevy.
