    Some more bandwidth choking pixels...

Some fun over the last week. And I might add more photos tonight, from the kids' ride.... That might mean making cookies.

So it has been a week, and so I will start with the kids' ride. It's just a bunch of us folks that have decided that we ought to get kids outside and on bikes. Doesn't matter about the ability or age, we just go do it. Last week it was on pavement:

    My kid:

And one who will work up to the big jump some day:

    We include everyone:

Often we get lucky and see wildlife in a semi-urban setting:

    The whole group:

Then I got to ride with the girls:

National Trail Day with COPMOBA and REI:

I love to see kids on bikes!

Skip these shots if you get bored with wildlife:

    Back to bicycles:

That's all for now. I'll get this evening's photos up later.

Always nice to see your posts. I like seeing the kids out too.
"There are those who would say there's something pathological about the need to ride, and they're probably on to something. I'd wager though that most of the society-approved compulsions leave deeper scars in the psyche than a need to go and ride a bicycle on a mountain." Cam McRea

That is a cool idea. I am trying to get my daughter and son out on the trails with me. My daughter can really peddle like a fiend.

Thanks for donating your time towards children. It is always worth while.

P.S. Your trails look like a ton of fun too.

    Shots from the kids' rides....

If you're old and cranky and don't like young whippersnappers on your trails, look no further, these photos will upset you.

Kids, tandems, adults, and a dog:

This girl rocked it! I was impressed!

My girl, riding Miss Piggy (my Knolly), she rocks it, too!

    One of her bestest friends:

Not so much a kid anymore, but he's still my kid:

    The youngest:

This kiddo is mostly non-verbal, but he will bring all his cycling gear to his parents to let them know he wants to go ride:

    Best friends and crazy socks:

This guy has lost 50+ pounds pedaling:

    The adults had fun, too:

Yep, the night was a success:

Lots of food was consumed, but sorry, no photos of the homemade chocolate chip cookies, guacamole, mango salsa, or other nummies.

You know, Screampint, it's posts like yours that make me think "Screw money, the economy, the daily grind, etc. I'm moving someplace like that and just grabbing whatever job can get me and the wife by so I can spend more time riding places like that."

    Thanks for ruining my workday.

    And keep posting pics.

My life is filled with kids and bikes, for the most part. I won't make lots of money, but I sure feel rich!

+1000 !!! The daily work grind gets old. As time goes by, I think more and more that it would be good to "live in a van down by the river", work to make enough money to get by, and enjoy and do more of whatever it is that makes you happy, such as riding and sharing with kids.....

Darn. By the way you set up those eagle shots, I thought for sure the lizard was a goner.

    Cool photos. (as usual)

I hear you. I am the Cubmaster for 60 Cubscouts. If I could find a nice beginner trail, I would definitely get them out there. There is nothing as rewarding as working with kids.
