    Shorts on the Ridge

Per usual, the weather in Colorado has been all over the place this Winter. We had one heck of a cold snap a few weeks and for the last few days it's been sunny and 60. It would be terrible to let these December days go to waste, so I've been riding one of my favorite front range chunks spots, Dakota Ridge, at - um - lunch.

Warm and Sunny from at the top of the first climb from the Matthews Winters parking lot.

Sometimes it's fun to go back up the tough stuff.

Even the shade draped "steps" are nice and dry.

You can almost make out red rocks in the upper left.

Thin Winter air helps flight patterns I'm told.

Afternoons are best served with a side of chunk.

Movie picture as they call it:

    Thanks for checking in.

    Re: Shorts on the Ridge

Nice post. Jealous of the weather. It'll get into the 40's here today but all that means is that the snow will melt, the ground will thaw and everything will be a sloppy mess.
    No moss...

Hmm, nice terrain and nice weather in December. Wouldn't know what to do with myself.

Nation wide? I know last year was a very snow-less winter. This year, although not yet 2014, has been a very good start to the ski season. I've gone from skiing pow to riding dry dirt in shorts and back again a few times already this year.

Yup... Colorado was pretty nice to us yesterday. Rode White Ranch (a few miles north of Dakota Ridge). Shorts and short sleeves. It was fantastic.

Lovely scenery and looks like a wonderful place to ride. It was a balmy 3c here in Ontario today. We did a hike to mark new trail.

That's the truth. Had a weird stretch of 60 degree weather. Just had to take advantage if it. yesterday it was around 10 degrees. Been a bi-polar winter so far for sure!

And thanks for all the kind words folks...
