    OK I'll go...New Year's resolution

I hereby resolve to ride Empress this year, without catching my shoelaces on the pedal causing a lack of focus, resulting in a major crash that shoved the saddle and my privates 4' rearward, maybe more. Fortunately I had the foresight to fend off sharp rocks with the heel of my right hand as I went down. Damn I hurt in some places. Stupid rocks. But it was a great ride!

Where did you crash on Empress?

I managed to crash on Severed, went left when I should have gone right on one of the bottom creek bed step downs...
(Yoda said it was a good crash)

Still managed to do a jump & gap on Pingu that I haven't done before.

Great riding with you & the mur-cuns to bring in the new year!

Nick, Mellow took a bunch of pics but I don't think he has posted any yet.

    it's kinda like

the Waterfall...only costant, for a few hundred feet, with switchbacks and lots of exposure if you wobble. You'd like it Nick, when you coming up? Jim

I just want to make it up Old La Honda Road on my Roadie bike without stopping. For most of you this wouldn't be a big deal but it just happens to be my current challenge. Picture a steady 35% grade of a climb that goes on for 45 minutes to an hour with an elevation change around 2K (guessing).

Less blood on the single track in '06 would be cool too.

It is a tiny gap, but gaps freek me out for some reason. Probably due to the consequence of coming up short.

    no laces?

where's the challenge in that? Actually I have no idea how I hooked them, I've been using the same model boots for years and this was a first.

August! Let me know when. Jim
