I moved to my current resident last year, but I haven't tackled my old friend, Burnaby Mountain, in the last two years. Then again, I sold my last mountain bike 2 years ago.
I live in the North Side of the mountain now and I have never done those trails before. They are new experience to me. I have been struggling up the climb on the side for a while as I found the trails are steep. At first, I thought that it was me as I haven't climbed these hills in years. I have been doing at them for a week, and I still have trouble going up.
This weekend, I decided not to pedal it up and I walked it. It was a 10 minutes hike and I found myself in a familiar spot. I arrived at a place that I used to ride. It wasn't a surprise, but it was a familiar place.
I was glad that I walked up the hill, even it was too difficult to climb.
I finished climbing the hill and got to the top. I rode down Mel and then I went home.
It was a new experience and I enjoyed the climb. I felt good afterward and I am thinking training for some cyclocross races in October and November.
