    My wife left me

My wife left me home alone for the holidays. It's 3:45am, my new carbon Bronson is in the car. I'm heading to Sedona!

Dream come true. My wife doesn't leave me unsupervised.

I'm paying the price because her first husband cheated on her.

I'd be in Maine with my fatbike if I could get away with it.

When I saw the title I thought she left you for good and I said to myself "Lucky guy"! Now I read that she left you only for the holidays. Well that's better than nothing! Enjoy and pray for us!

I love riding so much that I picked a wife that loves riding every bit as much as I love riding.

Truer words were never spoken. My wife misrepresented how much she liked riding.
Take any potential mates for a couple of good rides first.

    My wife left me once...
Four years ago. I went to the NASCAR race at Infineon Raceway for the day. It was Father's Day. I get home to find all of my wife's stuff gone. All of our kids' stuff gone. Well, happy fawkin Father's Day!!
So the next day I went for a ride.
And the day after that, I went for a ride.
And the day after that, I went for a ride.
And the day after that, I went for a ride.
And the day after that, well, I was tired, so I just drank beer, but you get the idea.
She moved back in September. I can count on one hand the number of days that summer that I did not ride. It was glorious. Sometimes I did a spin class in the morning before work and went for a ride after work. I was in the best riding shape of my life.
Everything is better know. Our relationship is rock solid, but sometimes I miss that summer.

You all need to marry the right gal. My bride lets me ride whenever I want, because she knows it takes my hyperactivity down a notch, so I'm easier to get along with

If the wife won't ride, get a mountain tandem, it's an amazing ride and way fun. I can get away with some pretty sketch stuff cuz she doesn't know what's coming until we're already in it.

My wife's at work, I just finished building a wheel, so I'm going riding!

Same here; but she came to believe that I am the best husband she has ever had.

OP, do you maintain a secret stash of cash? I find it important to avoid the debit/credit card trail.

She actually told me I don't need to ask about spending money unless it's for a new bike! (That lasted till she saw what a pike cost)

Let's hear it for red dirt, wicked bikes, mates who love to bike (or happily let their SO do it)...and of course remembering the insightful words from Evil Patrick: Choose wisely.

+2 on this. Better find someone who you can enjoy being around and do the things you love. My wife won't mountain bike with me, but she'll road ride with me all day long so we do get to spend quite a bit of time together in the saddle. Also helps when I want a new bike or upgrade, she gets it.

My Wife and I share a few hobbies like hiking, running, camping and shooting, but she refuses to get into mountain bikes. She says mountain biking is my time to be with my friends and get away for a bit. When she explained that, I quit pressuring her to ride with me.

My wife is leaving tomorrow and taking my two boys with her for a family visit for a few days. I love my wife and my boys but I haven't taken a **** in solitude in 5 years. Looking forward to some quiet loaf pinching. I have no idea why everyone waits until I am sitting on the crapper to start asking me questions.

Utterly crass, but still pretty funny. Enjoy your "quiet" time.

    Patrick is spot on!

I am fortunate to have found a life partner who is also my favorite riding partner! The family that rides together glides together. Or something like that.

Enjoy your holiday with the Bronson! Oh, and stay away from the vortex--it can do strange things to a person.

The wife and dog are both keen riders, but recent baby and elbow injury to the dog means I ride by myself more often these days!

I'm lucky enough to have a wife that rides, too. Still it's nice to ride with no worries and only your own agenda at times.

    Enjoy your private time

My GF never rode till I borrowed a friends bike and took her out for a loop of our local trails. She is hooked and we ride when possible all the time together. I have been teaching her how to ride and that has helped her progression immensely. I remember when I started it was trial and error, not the best way to learn. I still enjoy my solo rides and try to burn myself out on a ride so when we go out together I am not trying to break my last loop time. I try to enjoy our rides together but its hard not to hammer it, its my nature to ride as fast as I can, I have never raced but I just like to ride fast. I am very lucky and happy I found this lady who loves cycling and actually has in interest it what I do. I even get bike stuff for birthdays and Christmas now AWESOME! Last year she got the Park Pro truing stand, I love this lady
