Smile MTB in the fjords on the west coast of Norway

This is a video I made of some of our epic trails in the north section of the west coast of Norway. The surrounding mountains are typical 1600-2000 meters high, but the trails we are riding are from 1000-1100m and go all the way down to sea level. No lifts, hardly any fire roads, just push biking up the mountains.
The occasion is a yearly gathering called "Fjørå Singletrack Camp". We have been limiting the event to only 50 participants, to keep it social and non-commercial.
The fjords on the video are Tafjorden, Norddalsfjorden, Sunnylvsfjorden and the “famous” Geirangerfjorden.

That just makes me jealous. I want to be out riding those sensational looking trails.

Thanks for sharing. Another place to visit is now on my list.

    Awesome video!

What kind of brakes did you use and how did they hold up?

Incredible photos... my wife's family is from Norway and we've been thinking about going there next year. This has definitely made me even more interested to go!

I used my phone to take a 360 Photosynth picture from Liahornet, the top of one of the tracks in the movie. A cool way to show 360 pictures

And a friend of mine has also made a video from this gathering.

Stunning scenery, though I'm not sure how much of it one can see while tackling those trails. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Similar boat, only it is my father who lives in Norway. Trondheim, actually. We are planning a visit summer of 2012. If I go, I am looking you up Lars. Great trails, great video.

I just got back from Norway. Wasn't able to take a bike over there with me and I'm not sure the people I was with would have been down for any of what I would have wanted to do anyway, but what a place. If I had been able to bring my toys, I would have had a terrible time deciding between the MTB and the road bike every day.

So many cool sites to see. 11 days was fun, but was just a glimpse of all that there is to see there. I would definitely recommend a trip over there to anyone thinking about making a journey.
