Gotta be honest. Never actually 'mountain' biked in the mountains. That looks awesome.

That terrain looked more like Tibet perhaps?

But I have a funny story about mountain biking in Nepal. When I was there in 1992 I met a group of young Europeans that were going to ride their bikes to Everest Base Camp. We had a few beers that night at some restaurant in Thamel, Kathmandu and I told them I was heading that way too and thought it would be fun to catch up later on the trip. It should be noted that this was all of our first experience in Nepal. So it was decided, since they were riding and likely would be far ahead, that we would meet up in Junbesi on their way back, my way up.

Okay fast forward a day's bus trip to the beginning of the trail at Jiri. They take off I wave goodby and start to walk. A few hours into the trip the terrain gets really steep and the trails are awful, full of rocks, and since the monsoons were running a bit late were more like rivers. So I run into the European cyclists who have stopped at the bottom of a canyon but now they have a dozen Nepali porters with them to carry the bikes! So we all trudged along in the trail/rivers, me with my backpack (my Aunt was along too) and the MTBers with their backpacks and their porters. Whenever they would get to a patch of trail that seemed ridable they mount the bikes and off they go, but as soon as it would get too steep then they would stop and wait for the porters to catch up. This went on for DAYS. It was just too much fun.

Anyway that was my mountain biking in Nepal experience. I'm sure there must be other routes that are more passable, like the jeep roads that lead from Kathmandu to Lhasa for instance.

While a fun video isn't this basically spam? The video is pushing the op's business. Unless it's paid for I thought that was against the rules at MTBr?

Me too, fellow Oregonian! Sitting at my desk sucks right now, and obviously, you can tell my mind is elsewhere, being that I am on mtbr.com!
