    The Lesson (Part I)

Here's part one of "What did we learn?"

    This is Gooseberry Mesa.

Yes, I could have done better and yes, the music is totally irrelevant. I was in a "mood" when I started the editing.

    Enjoy.

Wondering why no one had commented on this. After hearing that music I understand. Good video otherwise.

No man, the song is great. I thought the vid was too. Your work belongs in Passion...

You should credit the song, what is it?

I was all like, bluebird sky, sagebrush, p-j, slickrock, NOIR? I'm all like, WHOA! what the heck?
    THE AIRBORNE TOXIC EVENT (group)
    Sometime around midnight...(song)
    Lyrics here
    Summary
    saw her with another guy
    bummed
    need to see her again
    even more bummed

Loved the 1950s home movie effect at the beginning, excellent trail footage, so it's all good. A gooseberry is a shrub with a tart little green berry, all over the Colorado Plateau.

Anyway, I was looking at the lyrics and thinking about how you could sub in schnauzer, so maybe it goes down like this on the trail:

    And it starts
    Sometime around midday
Or at least that's when you lose yourself
    For a minute or two

    As you stand
    at the trailhead
And the I-Pod plays some song about forgetting for awhile
And the piano's this melancholy soundtrack to her awesome doggie whiles
And that spiked white collar she's wearing, you know you haven't seen her
    For a while

    But you know
    That she's watching
    She's barking, she's barking
She's chewing her bone like a cross
The day suddenly spinning, she walks up and sniffs you
You can smell her Schnauzer perfume
And you see her gently snoring after a long hard day on the trail

    And so there's a change
    In your emotions
And all of these memories come rushing like feral waves to your mind
Of the curl of the Frisbie, she rises to catch it and she runs ahead on the trail
And you feel hopeless, and dogless, and lost in the haze of the pines

And she tugs at the leash
    Of someone you don't know
But she makes sure you saw her, she looks right at you
As she trots and then bolts down the trail
Your blood boiling, your heart is roiling
And then your friends say "What is it? You look like you've seen a ghost."

    And you ride
    down the bike trail
And you're too drunk to notice that everyone's staring at you
You don't care what you look like
The world is falling around you

You just have to ride the trail with her
    ride the trail with her
    ride the trail with her
    ride the trail with her
    ride the trail with her

You know that she'll break your heart in two.

    LOL!

    June Bug,

It really was totally irrelevant when I picked the song. I just like the Leonard Cohen-ish style of the band. Yeah, it's not very upbeat. Then again, I could have used a Smith's song I was listening too .

It's all good. I'm not depressed or pissed-off. Heck, I'm in Disney World this week!
