    Last weekday Tahoe ride

Although officially retired I'm teaching half time for a year or so. With classes beginning in a few days this would be my last weekday Tahoe ride of the season. So I decided to do a big one with lots of pedaling. I did a round-trip from Mt. Rose: the Tahoe Rim Trail (TRT), Redhouse, Sunflower, Marlette Lake overlook, The Flume, Hobart, Marlette Lake overlook, Hobart, The Flume, back to Mt. Rose. The TRT from Mt. Rose is a great trail for those who want to just pedal. However, riding up Hobart Road really sucks. I thought this would be my longest Tahoe ride ever but it turns out I did the same route last Fall. But at least I took a half hour off my time. Here is a map of the trails.

Did you ride up the stairs? Nice, ride, that is one that I can do (in theory) from the Reno house...or maybe a shorter variant.

I would suggest trying the new Sunflower Hill singletrack up to the Marlette Lake overlook. Very gradual and even I can ride it without stopping. Then you get to go downhill back to Tunnel Creek Rd. Warning: the ride back to Mt. Rose is mostly uphill so don't try too much at once.

I've ridden back to Mt Rose which is my 'local' trailhead for the TRT, and it is a bummer it is all uphill...but not too bad.
