    Lake Tahoe

My riding in Tahoe has been interrupted the past few weeks due to unhealthy levels of smoke from a fire new Yosemite. But yesterday (9/14) was clear with perfect temperatures. By this time of year it can be quite sandy in spots, but it had rained overnight and the trails were packed down very nicely. I did a round-trip on the Tahoe Rim Trail (TRT) from Mt. Rose: Redhouse, Sunflower, Marlette Lake overlook, The Flume, Hobart, Marlette Lake overlook, Hobart, The Flume, back to Mt. Rose. My skills were better than they have been in a long time. I'm usually dragging near the end, but I had a really strong finish. I never get tired of these views and I could not not stop for photos a few times.

I never get tired of this view.

At least a 1,000 ft. drop here.

I love these big granite boulders everywhere.

    Early morning light.

    A favorite posing place.

    Granite everywhere.

46 miles. That's a big day. Thanks for the great photos and for reminding me that I really need to get back to Tahoe.

What's nice about the pics is that there were some clouds. As amazing as it is normally on a clear day, with those white puffy clouds it looks even more amazing! I am probably going to be up there this Thursday which I'm looking forward to.

Looks epic! I can't wait to drag my bike up there and ride. Hopefully next summer.

South end of The Flume Trail as you come through the Aspens.

Nice, Wherewolf! One of my favorite rides down there (though I don't tack on the Redhouse part of your mega-loop). Got me feeling all nostalgic since I broke my annual August Tahoe trip tradition for the first time in 15+ years this summer...

Great pictures! These pictures look familiar because I actually used one of your Garmin routes a couple of months ago when I was in Tahoe the first time. I rode the same routes except I came down chimney beach trail. Such a beautiful place.
