    Lagunitas Maximus

I had thought to ride today but was just too busy. This evening I cleaned the Bonti and the Stumpy, hung out in the shed, and on put my 2 new WTB SSTs. Lubing and tweaking was done. Sorta watched the Giants game.

I've been struggling with my mtb in the last few years which is why I gave up coaching. I ride with a bunch of great people from BTCEB now; Skeggs and Coe lately. Whatever "it" is is starting to come back. So being in the shed with bikes, grease, and beer was like coming home.

I can see how that would be a good thing to come back to,Ive been off bicycles for 3 years due to a bashed knee.
I bought a new Kona 29er and have been on it 3 or 5 times a week for the last 5 weeks, before that I was spinning on the road bike to get the knees ready.
Im already doing some good local climbs and looking forward to hitting some of the new trail systems in the mountains around here.

    Good to come back indeed!

HUGE Lagunitas fan. Them and Ommegang are my favs but never really "felt" the Maximus. Currently drinking a Firestone Wookey Jack Black Rye IPA...interesting.

Beer by the case at Costco, bang-for-buck, is Lagunitas IPA. Bottle, our local specialty shop (Pliney, Stone, Hophead, Pugsley....etc) had Sumpin' Sumpin and that was just a nice step up. The Maximus was yet another hoppy step up. I had it with pan fried Lamb chops, saffron rice, and a spicy salad and it was even better.

Mike, I think I have the same bike as you. Mine is a 2004 Pro Disk, same color, looks very similar. Is that what you have there? Actually the Pro is my backup bike now that I built up the S-Works. I still love the Pro!

Spot on; it's a Pro. It is my #2 bike; the Bontrager is my main squeeze. When the HT starts to feel a bit tough or I'm riding somewhere I've never ridden before I use the Stumpy. Not a bad ride.

I love my shop too. Bike in the stand, parts on the bench, cold one right beside. Life is good.
Use it, use it, use it while you still have it.

I just had my first Lagunitas brew over the weekend. Wilco Tango Foxtrot somethingorother.

It was really nice. Sort of ESB'ish, but maltier. I really dug it.

BTW; I did clean up the shop a bit. I got in there and moved things around, threw stuff away, ending up with more useful space. It was all a part of taking back my passion.

My bench is generally covered with crap. When I need more than a few square inches of space, push to the rear. Sort of like a refrigerator.
Use it, use it, use it while you still have it.

    "Lah - goo - knee - tuss"

My bar serves the Maxximus, Sumpin Sumpin, WTF, and the Dogtown Pale ale.

I get in so many arguments at my bar on how it's pronounced. Then i whip out a Sumpin Sumpin, where there is a clear break down (above) of how to pronounce it.

    Snap!

score 1 for the red team.
