Jobs in the bicycle/outdoors industry???
With the new year i decided to quit my job. Start fresh, leave what I disliked in my rearview. People say find what you love, make it your passion and money will follow. Well I would love to find a job in the bicycle/outdoors related industry.
I live in Southern California and I know there is a lot of that related industry out here. I just don't know where to begin. I suppose going to the local company websites and click under careers.
Also I have become accustomed to a certain lifestyle. I made a decent living bartending for the last ten years, nothing extravagant, but comfortable, and I really don't want to take a pay cut.
I ideally would like to start my own company. I have what I think is a great idea, but as of now no start up capital.
Anyone here in the forum ever start your own bicycle/outdoors related company. If so how did you get started?
pondering my next move
If you want to start your own company, then you need a place to start. Garage, office, any space that can be full of your company.
Next, PM RepackRider. Gary Fisher and him started MountainBikes.

Have the space not the cash. However I can always save and use towards new venture. I've started drafting concept out and will soon start looking for best materials to use for concept build. Hope by the end of summer I'll have something to show and market.
Try sites like kickstarter.com for crowd source funding.
