Why do those world series/olympics style race tracks always seem so lame?
I know they need room for fans, but it seems like they should be racing on terrain more like Colorado, Arizona, or BC. Not just a couple mild rock obstacles and a few little hills.
Mountain bike with 15k miles, Road bike with 10k miles, breaking in my 29er by riding the entire AZ Trail

That was my argument back when I was watching for a few minutes (I quickly found something else more productive to do ). Iíve ridden on more technical/difficult stuff on leisure rides as well as a couple races before. (not that Iím some olympic stud pro XC rider or anything) There is plenty of technically demanding stuff here in the U.S. (as well as in other places in Europe) where tough races have been held, where there is plenty of room for spectators to watch.
