    Hello from Central PA

Hello everyone. I have been riding bikes off and on for years. Got my old Nishiki out and started riding again. It is to old so got my newer 1993 Schwinn out. So far so good. Having fun riding again.

Sweet! I got a hand-me-down Nishiki that I loved and rode relentlessly. It was the American Eagle branded bike.

Welcome to renewed biking passion, and be careful with that powerful elixir!

I grew up in Altoona. Fun place to ride. Do you remember Monkeyville? It was a forest with trails down by the campus with trails. I spent lots of my youth there. It's a shopping plaza now.
Have fun getting back into it!

I spent a lot of time riding on those trails when I was young. I ride on the power line and 4 wheeler trails by my house. There are some really tough trails in the woods

Hey Altoona! I went to Saint Francis U in Loretto. Love to find some trails in the area since I go back every July for alumni weekend. All I really know about is Ray's Town.

Cool. I visualize the trails in Monkeyville every once in a while.
I did the power lines once and then bombed down Frankstown Road around 50mph. No helmet.

If you start looking for other places to ride check out Yellowcreek State Park near Indiana, it shouldn't be more than 45 min from Altoona, I actually run into quite a few riders from Altoona there. It's an 18 mile loop around the dam, all really nice single track. lhorba.org has info on it.

Here is a pic of my Nishiki. I don't want to break it so I stopped riding it.

Thanks for the info. I drive through that area for work sometimes. I didn't know they have bike trails there.
