The pre-race stuff was more entertaining then the race coverage. A few shots coming acros the finish line and then some 4cross action. Kinda lame. What, they can't bring cameras up to the rocky sections? If they made it more like worldcup Dh skiing it might be entertaining.

I was up at a cool rock jump and saw a crew with a large camera. Asked the guys if they were OLN and they said were from Angel Fire resort instead. I guess the resort people have more energy to get the cameras in good spots than OLN. That is too bad.
This problem goes back that that cartoon posted recently alluding to that MTB people are out riding rather than watching TV. Thus, reinforcing that there isn't that much viewership...Plus, the fact that they are running lots re-runs of survivor ought to be an indicator of this.
..generally I say screw TV. It just so happened I decided to join the company for PT Friday morning for fun since it might be my last company PT before I start working in the Emergency OPs Center--the EOC is where they "stick" officers and sr NCOs for their last half year or so who are getting ready to retire.
It was a bad move--it's like I've rarely even participated in company PT over my 20 yr career--its like no one forced me--Something about arising early in Iraq led me to start doing Army PT---Make a long story short, these young whippersnappers decided to do relay PT. Crab walks, bear walks, litter carries and all kinds of crp I haveen't done in almost 20 years I bet.
So I was too sore to ride this morning and thus watched the pathetic coverage of what passes for mtb these days--and then gasp Gunsmoke re-runs on TVLand.
But I have yet in my life to watch one of those ridiculous reality/survivor type "shows".
Blah--off to L&M for a jumbo plate lunch I guess. May as well just do up the weekend shi**y right.

Now I know why MTB coverage gets no viewership. Checked my TIVO for what's available to watch, and lo and behold, UCI World Cup MTB from Angel Fire! WOOHOO!!!!! Then reality sets in. Nobody better ever complain about Al Trautwig again! After listening to that gravel voiced reject from drag racing coverage for an hour, I know we are truely blessed to have Al. As for the racing, aside from a few guys doing good impitations of me crashing, it pretty much sucked. Is there a good reason even the best woman in the world couldn't clear the doubles at the bottom of the four cross course?
As usual, mtb tv coverage blows. Talk about a snoozefest.
