Fruita Fat Tire Festival folks, let's figure it out

So there ahs been the usual talk of hooking up for some rides, hitting Moab before the Fest, etc.

Rob is going to be out that way with his family and we should hook up with him in Moab. Rich, you talk a big game about Moab but we've never ridden that together.

The Barleywine ride is going to happen again, Saturday afternoon, Lunch Loop area, no shuttles this time, just lots of ups and downs. We just need to figure out where to hang after the ride and do the Bigfoot thing where we won't be hassled by The Man or offend the local citizenry.

    Chime in.

    There is the schedule:

Thur April, 29-Sun may 1: fest.

Will you be scooting through Moab that Wednesday or thursday? In other words, what day can you ride in Moab? I think Tim said somethng about being around that week.

I would be happy doing 2 days in Moab..wed-thur, or thurs-fri.

No help on a saturday hangout spot but I like the riding plan.

I'm not involved offically in the FFTF this year and wasn't going other that hooking up with mtbr s!uts.

I think Wednesday in Moab works. It's what we did last year. I might even be there on Tuesday this year, if I end up driving solo.

Thursday mini epic Moore-Mary's-Troy Built-Horsethief, etc.?

    I Should Be Off...

... for a week starting that Wednesday (28th). Rides here Wednesday and Thursday perhaps. New terrain? My ankle has mostly healed and I'm back on the Bullit. I will not take a large or formal group to any of the good stuff, though. Only a few interested and technically tolerant people.

we'll be riding there Wednesday and Thursday too. But since it's our first time in Moab, we'll probably do the standard rides ie Slick Rock, Porp. Rim, maybe one other.
Then back to GJ Thursday night.

We'll be pulling out of town as the FFTF starts winding up, but Tues & Wed in Moab could work out really well. We'll be in a rented RV, so our schedule is totally flexible. My plan is to wear out the family in the morning and have afternoons free, but they're pretty tolerant of any ride schedule.

Flying out of SLC on Barleywine day, so I won't get a chance to sample that vile(?) liquid. Probably just as well, as my kids wouldn't be impressed with dad hurling on the RV carpets.

I'd be really interested in a small, informal ride on some good stuff. Or whatever works out....

Anyone interested in a car pool? I would be up for meeting everyone in Moab first or just heading to Fruita--whatever is fine. Post here or email colorider AT hotmail DOT com

JD, your lawn sounds like the place for the barleywineride apres ride festivities.

Kevin, we are doing that Moore "epic" on Thursday so you had better be there!

    Mr. Sloan, see you there.

    TJ, I expect some homebrew.

I have a RV site reserved at Fruita River (thur-sun). The scenarios can go, ppl can join me, I can join them and cancel the spot, whatever. I took what I could since I don't have an RV. but there are hook-ups to charge yuppie gear. Up to 3 cars and 6 ppl are allowed.

Some bikes I know of. Kristian rides a Fluid hardtail, Pete has a black Turner with a Maverick fork. I ride a black Ellsworth Id and wear a paper bag on my head--maybe a hawaiian shirt too.

I don't know who else is showing.

I think we will do Moore Fun first going west, then Mack Ridge and Troys from there. If you arrive late, you might get off at Mack exit, backtrack on dirt road to the middle lot and meet us at the end of Moorefun. I bet it will take us 1.5 hrs or more to do Moore fun--longer for a bigger group.

Right now Pete must be doing 170 mph somewhere!
