    Favorite component/piece on your bike?

Whats your favorite thing on your bike? From just looking badass or just because it makes your bike rip.

Mine would have to be my Chris King headset, mostly because it's puurty and an old friend bought it for me on my birthday and it was a huge surprise.

My $325 SRAM XX 11-36 cassette....I marvel at how long it took a high-speed CNC machine to whittle a solid block of billet steel, into the minimalist work of art it is.

The frames. On my old Ti Kona King Kahuna, I love the fact that the frame was made 30 miles from where I lived and you have to love Ti. On my Trek EX8, I just love look of the white FS frame.

Magura Louise brakes; do everything a brake should well, were reasonably priced, and probably the most reliable bike component of any kind I've ever owned.

For me, it's between the Hope brakes and my Chromag bits (bar/stem/saddle). All functionally and aesthetically beautiful. As opposed to my AMP seatpost, which is functional but kind of ugly.

My fork, even though it is stock. It is the only stock component that I like on my bike. I plan to upgrade almost everything to Shimano soon.

XO trigger shifters.. The solid chunk-chunk-chunk shifting is hard to beat. And the carbon fiber and silver aluminium is blingy.

Three things I probably couldn't build a bike without these days:
    1. Hope X2 brakes
    2. Sram crank with removable spider
    3. Gripshift (right side only)

    Can't narrow it to just ONE. . . .

My TRP carbon levers are JEWELRY!
X.9 triggers are FLAWLESS. (I miss my broken old X.9 rear d)
I like splined-BB cranks, and Deore is as good as any!
I love my Selle SMP Trk saddle so much, I already bought a replacement, for the time, years away, when this one wears out!
    And, HEY -- it's a Kona COILER!
A bike is the only drug with no bad side effects....

Mine's got the be my Lefty.

I'll have to take a pic, but it's kind of a "Frankenstein" Lefty. 2006 lower half, 2009 carbon upper, and 2012 internals.

It's lite, funky looking, 140 mm of squish, tunable, tracks awesome, and plush yet still progressive for big hits.
Lead by my Lefty............... right down the trail, no brakes.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned tires. The best, most expensive and bling-laden bike in the world is going to ride like a piece of wood without good tires. I personally love my Captains for XC duty and a Rampage or Purgatory for AM riding.

Six bidden cages ... or maybe the Extrawheel Voyager Solo trailer. The trailer is good but having the water is better. Water can be hard to come by on the Great Dividing Range, where I like to tour.

    Topping-up.

Getting old sucks but for me it came with the ability to finally build a bike the way I wanted, so there is no particular favorite part on my bike. Although I have to say, the Hope levers give me techno-wood.
Chasing bears through the woods drunk with a dull hatchet is strongly not advised

the same goes for me. it's why i got a fairly nice production steel 29'er frame with mundane components at $1600. i hope to keep this frame for quite a while and add better components as the spec parts wear out.
