Ever get the feeling your bike doesn't like you?

I think JFR's bike has finally had it. He was coming down this little rocky section at Rockville, the bike dumped him, and then tried to get away! John persuaded it to at least stick out the rest of the ride, saying they could "talk about it later."

    And a couple more...

Both Jed and Cruizy succumbed to gravity at Rockville today. Both were injured, to the point they had to beg off early.

Toll: One sprained wrist, a bruised palm and a hurt elbow. Apparently, one needs to ride in the dirt every now and then to keep the chops up.

P.S. A couple of these pics were taken by Cruizy, and yes, Jed is riding a borrowed FS bike, for you eagle-eyed Pissionists. It's what, a Giant AC1?

I took a couple of short videos, too. I've got an email in to Pete in hopes he'll put them up here, or on his site.

2 are kinda funny, and 2 involve JFR rolling off a steep section that he's (or anyone else, that I've seen) never ridden off, and then another guy comes along, and... well, you'll just have to see it. Pretty farkin' incredible.

Any details? When a bike has stood up to that much use over the years, it's interesting to know where it crapped out....
I know in my heart that Ellsworth bikes are more durable by as much as double. AND they are all lighter...Tony Ellsworth

Thanks for the compliment. Here's another shot, of Jed on his "rental." A split second after I snapped this, he fell and sprained his wrist. Kinda like what happened to Jm, only he sprained his brain.

Hey Finch, looks like this is your week to be on DC. I assume that's you.

Last time I was at rockville I took a stupid little spill and I couldn't sleep on my left side for 2 weeks.

Maybe you already know that but...

Get your wrist x-rayed, and examined carefully. Some fractures (scaphoid comes to mind) can easily pass without notice.

Whew...I thought it was Suzy that sprained her wrist. I'm relieved to hear it was just Jed.
