Maybe I've always been something of a space geek, but I was definitely intrigued by the thought of yesterday's eclipse. Not quite intrigued enough to drive for 3 hours to get to where it was going "full annular". But enough to get out there and try to combine the eclipse with another passion.
With the GF and dogs and armed with a piece of welder's glass, I headed up to the local mountain (strangely dry this year...) for some alpine spring singletrack. And some shots of the eclipse.
The air was cool and the singletrack was fun. As the sun narrowed to a crescent, the shadows became oddly crisp and the whole sense of light in the sky changed and became strange and vibrant. Green glass filter over the sun, a slice of singletrack, and we shot and got. Results? Interesting, I think.
