Down with the Singletrack

To the tune of Disturbed, Down with the Sickness.
---
Down With The Singletrack

Riding down through a maze of trees
Tracing a path down the trail
It seems what's left of this sweet bike ride
just is not enough for me

Chasing down my own salvation
When suddenly it hits me
Violently it hits me (oh no)
There is no turning back now
I've found the path to get there, inside me

[Chorus:]
Get up, come on get down with the singletrack [x3]
Give up your hate, and watch love flow from me
Get up, come on get down with the singletrack
You brother get up come on get down with the singletrack
You mother get up come on get down with the singletrack
Life is the gift, that has been given to me

I can see inside you, your passion is rising
Don't try to deny what you feel
(Will you give in and see?)
Just keep on riding and you will see
the key to heaven in me

It seems like you're loving the journey
the ride just lasts forever
Riding with these hikers (oh no)
The world is a beautiful place
Now that you've found the key to heaven, in me
[Chorus x2]

I didn't use the last section of the song, too much hate in it to try to rework. Hope you guys enjoy it.

Idea!

This is cool. I immediately brought up my mp3 copy of the song and it fits good vocally. I found the guitar tab online for this song and it seems pretty easy. Just gotta retune one of the guitars to Drop-D, but half-step lower. Nice and meaty bottom end. Thank god I have a 5-string bass so I don't have to retune that.
I'm thinking it wouldn't be to hard to record this. I've talked to a friend of mine here at work who is a drummer and he thinks he could learn the drum parts. Can I get your permission to use your lyrics and give it a try?

Dude that is sweet, it's all you brother. You just have to share the love when you get it finished.

In fact, if you want to tinker with another one along the same lines, here's one I did a while ago for Metallica's Master of Puppets.

Master of Singletrack
End of the work day, crumbling away
I'm your source of total freedom
Veins that pump with fear, rolling the track clear
Riding on to your salvation
Ride it you will see
More is all you need
You're dedicated to
How it's ruling you

Come riding faster
Obey your Master
Your legs turn faster
Obey your Master
Master
Master of singletrack the eagles sing
Ruling the course and jumping your dreams
Blinded by fear, you can't see a thing
Just ride your bike, noone hears your screams
Master
Master
Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream
Master
Master

Singletrack's the way, never you betray
Source of life becoming clearer
Pain monopoly, ritual misery
Push till you can't take it any longer
Ride it you will see
More is all you need
You're dedicated to
How its ruling you

Come riding faster
Obey your Master
Your legs turn faster
Obey your Master
Master
Master of singletrack the eagles sing
Ruling the course and jumping your dreams
Blinded by fear, you can't see a thing
Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream
Master
Master
Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream
Master
Master

Master, Master, Where's the trail that I've been after?
Master, Master, You promised only rides
Laughter, Laughter, All I hear and see is laughter
Laughter, Laughter, they're laughing at my cries

Ride with me

The ride is worth all that, natural habitat
Just a ride without a reason
Neverending maze, drift on numbered days
Now your hate is out of season

Come riding faster
Obey your Master
Your legs turn faster
Obey your Master
Master
Master of singletrack the eagles sing
Don't let trail closures get into your dreams
Blinded by fear, you can't see a thing
Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream
Master
Master
Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream
