    Desert blossoms

A quote from an article about the Anso Borrego State park in California seems to sum up how I feel about desert beauty. "Desert love is a strange love, hard fought for and earned. But the more I discover, the more I want to find." I'm paraphrasing and I'll edit once I get back to the office and find the quote exactly, but you get the idea.

Anyway, here's a few pics of recent trips to Vegas Bootleg and Blue Diamond.

Climbing Hurl at dawn. What a fun little loop. I can't believe I've ridden out here as often as I have and missed this. Leg burning climb (I went counterclockwise) followed by semi techy, twisty descent.

    A trail runs through it

Picking our way through the early morning flat light of a rocky desert shoulder. This is on the down portion of Hurl.

This is as green as it gets here.

This is also where the fun really gets cranked up a few notches on the Caldera loop at Bootleg.

    Desert blossoms

I find the desert at once beautiful and rewarding on these early spring days. It's always amazing to me that flowers find a way to bloom.....even here.
"The wilderness and solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose." Isaiah 35:1

nice pics. i love the desert, such fragile beauty. on my last ride i noticed the hedgehog cacti were blooming, bright pink flowers. sorry no pics. i am looking forward to the next couple weeks. we just got a lot of rain in the Phoenix area and that means lots of blossoms on the way.

More desert blossoms. These were taken two weekends ago on Cave Creek Trail in Seven Springs Rec area north of Phoenix. We had record temps in the high 90s that March weekend!

    Great pics all.
Your bike can take you anywhere, anytime, over any terrain but, you have to force it to GK 2004. BB1, who started it?

Thanks for the nice flower pics...

...although the one that really caught my eye was the Red Healer Australian cattle dog!!

I'm delighted that this breed of dog is known and appreciated in the states.

    Keep riding
