... and if we just ... Crashin Passion!

I dont know about you guys, but every so often I wreck my bike. I don't like the actual crash but I sure am happy when I can see a video of it, especially when I walk away unharmed. How bout a thread dedicated to videos and pics of crashes? kind of like a blooper reel.

so here is my last crash

and the rest of the downhill after the crash

Glad you guys are alright. But, if it is alright with you, I will try not to crash so that I do not have to post in here.

Funny thing but I don't remember the crashes where I don't get hurt. Unfortunately I remember quite a few, but that spans 30 years of mountain biking. Not healing up at the moment. Yay!!
No it never stops hurting, but if you keep at it you can go faster.

I don't mind crashing, as long as the bike lands on me and is okay. I have insurance on me, but not the bike

Yesterday I didn't so much as crash as I did fall. I went through a creek, which I've gone through hundreds of times, and I must have miscalculated how deep it was due to all the rain we've had recently. So I didn't have enough speed built up and my front tire sunk into the mud in the middle of the creek. Suddenly Im at a dead stop and before I even knew what had happened I was falling over. SPLASH!! I drank so much creek water I'm sure I've got some sort of ebola virus living in me!

If you were talking about my video, that is the East Boundary Trail in Montana De Oro State Park in Los Osos, CA. Its about 2.5 miles of very fun, fast single track.

A serious bad and long day of riding in deep leaves on Mt. Beacon in the Hudson Valley NY, back in 2009.
Once I took the shot under the ribs by the handlebars I was off for the rest of the ride.
After an ER visit it was found out to be a bad bruise through my abdominal wall.
It sucks when it it hurts to breathe.

I put together a little compilation of my crashes from the last couple years that I had captured on video.
None of them are spectacular or resulted in any really serious injury, but I was glad I got them with my go pro.
Recently got a go pro HD which captured my most recent crash at Downieville a few weeks ago.....as seen below.
BTW, if you don't like loud fast music, you may want to turn the volume down.............

I don't have any pics or videos, but the majority of my crashes happen on steep uphills where I accidentally pull the front wheel back and to the side or something. That just leads to me falling backwards/sideways and either sliding or tumbling.

For any onlookers the question is probably, "why in the hell did that dude just fall there?" haha.

gbowen444 that crash looked like it was caused by the tire debeading. I had a similar crash earlier this year but it took my rim too.

    I wish I had a camera.
But its really fun watching all these. There are few things I love more than a good crash, as long as nothing is seriously hurt. If you aren't crashin you aren't ridin hard enough.
Ive had my share of stupid ones. Im still waiting for my first serious one.

Yes I agree. I think he saw me, gradded a bit too much front brake in the wrong spot and that caused the tyre to burp/deflate. After that he was a passenger.

Front tyre was a Maxxis Ardent tube version but setup tubless on a mavic UST rim. This is a very similar setup to what I use, so it is a bit of a worry...

Direct helmet hit. Took this pic after wiping off all the blood so I could see the damage because I was by myself. That quality helmet really saved me. All I got was this dirt rash on my nose. Dived right into the ground head first. Just like this but horizontal

Mtb crashes are pretty cool, because you dont really get too embarrassed, because we've ALL been there. Actually, when i have a good one, i'm usually sad that nobdy saw it because i want to ask how it looked! my best crash though, had 3 strangers as a witness. it was an OTB, and when i sat up, the guy said "epic"........THEN he asked if i had broken something
