Hmmm...very altruistic of him to smooth out that rut so that others wouldn't snag their wheels in it. But seriously, ouch.

Not really a crash. More of a mishap. And you can post the pics in one post next time.

Why is it that the 3 guys wearing their winter spandex are the ones having most of the problems?

Desert, blue sky, spectators in shorts and t-shirts. Looks to me like those 3 guys were at the wrong event.

Look at the right-hand side of the last picture. That's not him grabbing his bike and taking off? Now it's just a shoot-out between him and that first guy if he can catch up to him. Not a bad strategy if it works.

If it doesn't? Well, then he gets second place and last place. Sucks twice as bad. Sometimes you just have to gamble big, I guess.

They were covering themselves from the killer sun. They are used to the 41 C (105 F) temps, but the sun here is unforgiven. I prefer sun blocker, but some like full covering.

If is the key, I think. He was getting up after taking out the cactus, but then that group of riders took his bike out before he could ride away. That's a serious time delay over the two guys who made it through (the first guy who got away scot-free and the second who skidded around the guy who hit the cactus).

If I was that dude, I'd have felt like crawling under a rock after that incident. I bet he pissed a few people off, too.

Relooking at this, seems like things are going bad for #156 from the beginning at Pic1. His right foot is unclipped, water bottle bouncing, much more dust coming off his tires than #180. Did he over cook the corner coming into this decent?
Nice series of pics though. The clusterf#ck at pic 14 is great.

Looks like 156 picked a crappy place to pass. All that space to his left and he tries to go by on the right. He causes chain reaction pile up. IMHO idiot.

Yeah, it's a huge IF but I imagined that scenario to be funny. Apparently I have an overactive imagination.

I agree, this looks like just plain bad riding on the part of 156 and I don't think he made any friends with it. Especially the guy in yellow who supermanned into his rear wheel. That had to hurt, a quick release to the thigh looks like a deep tissue bruise in the making.

There's a water bottle on the ground in picture #1 - was that guy grabbing a drink to start the whole chain of events off?

The whole sequence is funny to see as a collection of still pictures.

Yellow dude is absolutely priceless. Pic 13 would make some great "Caption this picture" threads.

I was thinking that same thing.

The slow rate that the pictures were posted with responses in between are what make the thread. Just when you didn't think it was that bad, the chain reaction just kept on going.

care to share scenic pics of your rides?
it is sad, but I got into mtbiking pretty much as soon as I got here (almost 3 years ago), I rode lots as a kid on my bmx when I lived in San Mateo (Aragua), but never again since early highschool.

I dream to go back one day just to have the pleasure to ride our country on a mtb, I really would like to explore the great areas Vzla has to ride...I found myself searching for events and group rides in the internet a lot lately, and I haven't found much actually...If you can share some info would be great! PM me if you want
