Colorado Thanksgiving near 10,000'!
Great Turkey Day ride yesterday! We were able to rally 7 people to use the best part of the day for riding bikes instead of gobbling turkey.
The plan was to shuttle, which is rare for us, mostly due to the fact that we're known for all day rides. If you've got all day to ride, why shuttle, right? ;) Anyway, this was a true CO shuttle - more of a point to point. Still, who can argue with a 3hr ride with a net elevation loss.
We were fortunate enough to get our good buddies at REEB Cycles and Oskar Blues to let us use their transportation for the shuttle.
After about an hour of climbing on graded county roads then jeep roads, we spied a new singletrack that we'd never seen. You never know til you explore it, right?
After some more, we found ourselves in a predicament.
But we perservered. Damned if we didn't find our way to more singletrack.
Finished up our ride coming down Lion Gulch, one of the tougher descents in the area. Again, steeper than it shows.
Definitely chunky in spots, too.
Back to load up the bus
And back home
We spent the best part of the day riding instead of eating. I was definitely ready for feasting when we were done!
